Trolley

A while back I ran across a really cool trolley design in somebody's brickshelf folder. At the time I didn't have enough of the needed red parts to build my own, but I put it in the back of my head as a future goal. Eventually I did collect enough pieces of the general sort needed, and this is the result. This trolley is built around one train motor, giving it a very short wheel base. This makes it slightly top heavy, fairly wobbly, and a lot of fun to whip around the track. Its size and weight make it easy to get it moving really fast on straightaways but also make it easy to slow down for the curves. I sure am happy I'm not paying to ride on this thing!

From the side. It is just barely possible to see the motor inside that is the only set of wheels on this trolley. Someday I may have to rebuild the bottom skirt. It almost looks fine, but is just weird enough looking to annoy me.
A front (or is it back?) angled shot. I didn't have enough spare yellow tiles to go on the top, so I had to use that funny looking yellow grill. Some day that will have to get replaced. The original design had square 1x1 bricks as all of the pillars, but that was quickly fixed when I ran across red canonballs in the pick-a-brick section of a Lego store.
