At various points during my life I have thought that photography would be a fun diversion, but I was easily able to recognize that two of my most prominent qualities, cheapness and laziness, directly conflicted with the need to get film developed after each photo shoot. Luckily I was eventually able to afford a digital camera, meaning I could take oodles of pictures without having to send them off to be developed on a regular basis. Problem solved!

In May of 2003 I sent off for a Canon Powershot G3, which serverd me well for several years and helped me discover what I like and dislike in photography. In general, I took pictures of lots of bugs.

By April of 2007 I was pushing the limits of what I do with the little G3, so I upgraded to Canon's Digital Rebel XTi. A couple of lens purchases later I once again had plenty of aspects of photography to learn about and play with again.

My photographic style is dominated by close-up bug "portraits", but in general I do a little bit of everything. Most of my pictures can be seen in my album, and some of the best ones I save out to put up on my photojournal.
