Waterfall Glen
Out in the southwest suburbs of Chicago there's a great forest preserve named Waterfall Glen. The perserve forms a ring around
Argonne National Laboratory and includes a ten mile loop of multi-purpose crushed limestone. As you run, ride, or ski around it you pass through numerous environments including prairie, pine trees, high bluffs, marshy lowlands, and commercialized land. It's not a challenging ride by any means, but it is a pleasant one. Since I work at Argonne, I occasionally take a trip around the path either before or after work, and in April of 2007 I took my GPS along to document the lay of the land.
